Fluke Networks MicroScanner™ PoE
PoE Industrial Ethernet Cable Verifier Kit
The Fluke Networks MicroScanner™ PoE Industrial Ethernet cable verifier performs continuity tests on RJ45, M12X, M12D, and M8D terminated cables in a few seconds and displays results graphically so you can see opens, shorts, and cross wires.
The MS-POE also quickly determines if a problem is caused by insufficient power or the powered device. Cable and power failures result in costly production downtime so it’s important to quickly identify where the cable is broken so it can be replaced or repaired.
Includes IntelliTone Pro 200 Probe, Remote ID kit, Duffle Bag, Multi-Connector Adapter, Cat6A patch cord, RJ45 male to RJ45 female patch cord , RJ45/M12X patch cord, RJ45/M12D patch cord, RJ45/M8D patch cord for testing of M12X, M12D, M8D terminated cables.
IntelliTone Pro
IntelliTone Pro is the first toner and probe to offer digital and analog toning all in one tool. That means it’s equipped with the most powerful cable location and verification technologies for any work environment – even active networks
- Eliminates confusion over cable location; decisively rejects noise and false
signals - Locates the correct cable bundle
- Isolates a cable within the bundle, despite cable bleed
- Verifies twisted-pair installation with visual end-to-end continuity test (opens,
shorts and reversed pairs) - Identifies individual wire pairs with new SmartTone™ analog toning
- Simplifies signal interpretation in noisy environments with multiple LED indicators
- Eliminates confusion over cable location; decisively rejects noise and false
Locate cables quickly and easily
Fluke Networks has applied decades of cable test engineering expertise to the science of locating copper cables. The result is what we call IntelliTone technology – a digital signal-toning and signal-interpreting process that rapidly zeroes in on cables.
IntelliTone technology energizes cable conductors with a smart, sychronized digital signal. Multiple tone types occur in the signal that help you to:

Display | Monochrome LCD with backlight |
Test modes | |
Cable test | Measures length, verifies wiremap, identifies remote ID locators, and detects Ethernet ports. MicroScanner™ PoE also shows HIGH Ω when the resistance of the cable is more than 12.5 Ω. Displays results on one screen. |
Tone | Generates IntelliTone™ and normal analog toning signals |
PoE | MicroScanner™ PoE: Solicits and detects the presence of 802.3af, at, bt, and UPOE (Cisco’s Universal Power over Ethernet) compatible PoE devices |
Performance specifications | |
Cable types tested | Twisted pair: UTP, FTP, SSTP |
Length test | Range: 460 m (1500 ft) Resolution: 0.3 m (1 ft) Typical accuracy: ± 4% or 0.6 m (2 ft) whichever is greater. NVP uncertainty is an additional error. Calibration: User-settable NVP for twisted pair. Can determine actual NVP with known length of cable. |
Wiremap test | Detects single-wire faults, shorts, miswires, split pairs, and up to seven far-end adapter IDs. The wiremap is drawn with proportional length to visually indicate the approximate location of faults. |
Ethernet port detection | MicroScanner™ PoE: Detects the advertised speed of 802.3 Ethernet ports with speeds of 10 Mbps, 100 Mbps, 1 Gbps, 2.5 Gbps, 5 Gbps, and 10 Gbps. |
Tone generator | Supports toning and cable mapping with a Fluke Networks digital IntelliTone™ probe. Generates four tones compatible with typical analog probes. SmartTone™ feature gives positive identification of cables in bundles when using an IntelliTone or an analog probe. |
