Tools for analyzing Unbalance and Misalignment .

What is Smart Machine Checker ?

Smart Machine Checker is a powerful machine diagnostic tool that does not require expertise in vibration analysis. Once the user has set the machine data in the system, SMC will diagnose machine abnormalities within seconds using the Accurex automatic diagnostic software.

Fixturlaser SMC is a machine analysis tool that can automatically diagnose machine abnormalities without the need for an internet connection.

Fixturlaser SMC is a modern portable machine diagnostic tool (with AI assistance for analyzing various data) designed to enable technicians and maintenance personnel to check the condition of rotating machinery as needed, within just a few minutes. It does not require special training or certification. This tool can generate easy-to-understand machine diagnostic reports that identify detected faults, along with the severity level and confidence level of the diagnosis.

Accurex™ (AI): A new innovation in machine diagnostic systems.

Accurex is a patent-pending automatic diagnostic software installed in the Fixturlaser Smart Machine Checker. Accurex can detect machine defects more accurately and reliably than ever before.

What is Unbalance ?

Unbalance  refers to the condition where the mass of a rotating component is not evenly distributed around its axis of rotation, resulting in centrifugal forces or unbalanced forces during rotation, which causes the machine to vibrate.

  Impact of Unbalance on Machinery:

      • Increased Vibration: Unbalance causes the machine to vibrate more, leading to faster wear and tear of various components and potentially causing damage to surrounding parts or equipment.
      • Reduced Component Lifespan: Vibration from unbalance accelerates the deterioration of bearings, shafts, and other components, potentially shortening the overall lifespan of the machinery.
      • Machine Damage: If unbalance is not corrected, it can lead to more severe damage, such as shaft breakage or damaged bearings, which may result in machine downtime or production stoppages.
      • Decreased Operational Safety: Excessive vibration can make machinery unsafe to operate, posing risks to both employees and operations.
      • Increased Energy Consumption: Machines with unbalance typically consume more energy to overcome the centrifugal forces, which increases operational costs.

What is Misalignment ?

Misalignment refers to a situation where the shafts or connected components of machinery are not aligned as they should be. They are offset from the intended alignment, which can occur in both directly coupled shafts or in machines driven by belts or chains.

Types of Misalignment:

    • Parallel Misalignment: The two shafts are not aligned along their axis. Simply put, the shafts are parallel but not in line with each other.
    • Angular Misalignment: The two shafts are not at the same angle, or there is an unequal angle between them.
    • Combined Misalignment: This occurs when both Parallel and Angular Misalignment are present simultaneously.

What is Bearing Defects ?

Bearing Defects refer to issues commonly found in machinery that uses bearings to support the rotation and movement of various components. These defects can arise from several factors, such as wear or lubrication problems, which affect the performance and lifespan of the machinery.

Wear:

Wear in bearings occurs due to friction between moving parts, which can happen from prolonged use or when the bearing is subjected to loads beyond its design limits.

Impact of Wear:

      • Increased Vibration: Wear causes the bearing surfaces to become uneven, leading to higher vibrations during operation.
      • Noise: Worn bearings generate increased noise, such as knocking or grinding sounds.
      • Reduced Machinery Efficiency: Decreased rotational accuracy affects the machine’s performance and may impact product quality.
      • Severe Damage: Unaddressed wear can lead to bearing failure, potentially causing sudden machinery shutdown.
Lubrication:

Insufficient or improper lubrication is a major cause of bearing wear and damage. Proper lubrication reduces friction and prevents wear.

Impact of Lubrication Issues:

      • Accelerated Wear: Poor lubrication speeds up bearing wear, shortening its lifespan.
      • Heat Build-up: Inadequate lubrication can cause heat accumulation in the bearing, leading to expansion and increased friction.
      • Severe Damage: Lack of proper lubrication can result in bearing failure or severe damage, leading to machinery downtime and potential urgent repairs.

Tri-Axial Wireless Sensor

Fixturlaser Smart Machine Checker comes with a triaxial wireless sensor that can measure vibration values simultaneously in vertical, horizontal, and axial directions. This makes the measurement process fast, easy, and reduces the chance of errors.”
